8-2 Announcements
Monday, January 8th, 2018
I apologize for not updating sooner, with the holidays and our snow break, it's been a bit hectic!
- Make up days for January 4th and 5th are Saturday, January 20th and Saturday, April 7th.
- Course Benchmarks/I-Ready Tests will be given next Tuesday and Wednesday, January 16th and 17th. Please make sure your students are at school that day! 8th grade testing will be during 7th and 8th periods.
- We have no school next Monday, January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- Report Cards will be going home tomorrow, January 9th.
- If you have not paid your final payment for our Washington D.C. field trip, please do that ASAP! All money is due by Friday, January 13th so that we can make hotel and bus reservations! Payments can be made by cash, check or online through the RMS website by clicking the Parents tab.
- To start the new semester, some stricter policies were put into place for the 8-2 team. Please see the email attachment that was sent today for more information on the new policies.
- The RMS PTA is sponsoring a "Super Bowl of Caring" Personal Hygiene Drive January 8th-February 2nd. RMS is home to one of Wake County’s newest food pantries. It’s fully stocked with food supplies to help fight hunger in our community, but when you don’t have enough money to buy food, you typically don’t have any leftover for the other essentials: personal hygiene items - we’d like to help with that and would like you to join us. Please see the flyer attached to today's email for more information.

Welcome back Owls! We are getting closer to the end of 2nd quarter. It is very important to get any makeup work that you may have accumulated made up ASAP. During the holiday season, life gets hectic and we are aware of that. Attendance is very important. It is often that is when the grades slip - forgetting to make up the work missed. We do not want you to come to school sick. It is important to make up your work when you return. Also, if you are completing your classwork/homework daily - it will be so much less stressful (on all of us) Course Benchmarks/I-Ready Tests are coming up in January - be focused and be prepared to show us what you are capable of.
Seasons Greetings!
